The new church is away to your left, and the monastery is up the steps behind the trees.  The huge sycamore tree stands strong for the last 500 years guarding the south gate to the monastery (on the left) was reputedly planted in the 15th century by a Venetian nobleman’s daughter  who retreated to the monastery to avoid an unwanted marriage.
